Beneath the Frosting
This thesis project, titled "Beneath the Frosting," is a three-tiered sculptural cake made from paper and mixed media, symbolizing the layers of personal growth and identity. Each tier represents a foundational aspect of the designer’s life—family, education, and future—unfolding through interactive compartments that reveal design artifacts, memories, and aspirations. The playful exterior mimics a frosted cake with sprinkles and strawberries, inviting viewers to explore the deeper meaning and storytelling beneath the surface. It celebrates the idea that, like baking and design, thoughtful layering and care lead to something meaningful and beautiful.
